Dr. Derya Malak


Dr. Derya Malak received the B.S. Degree at Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, in Jun 2010, and the M.S. Degree at Koc University, Istanbul, Turkey, in Feb 2013 where she was advised by Prof. Ozgur B. Akan, both in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She also have a minor in Physics from METU. She received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in Aug 2017, where she was affiliated with the Wireless Networking & Communications Group (WNCG), her Ph.D. advisor was Prof. Jeffrey G. Andrews. Then, she was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from Sep 2017 to Aug 2019, working with Prof. Muriel Médard. She was also a visiting scholar at Northeastern University, hosted by Prof. Edmund Yeh. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at EURECOM and also has an adjunct position in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
